Susi was born in Catalonia of an English mother and Catalan father. 

She came to live in Ireland in 1993 where she married an Irishman.

After the birth of her son, she started  working with clay, making butter dishes. 

As a friend commissioned her for one with a sheep on it she started making more sheep and so “A Piece of Ireland” was born in 2013. 

She then started making hand built mugs with sheep on them and this evolved into throwing stoneware mugs on the potter’s wheel. 

 

She wanted to decorate them with trees, inspired by her morning walks with the dogs in the woods of Moycullen, so asked her mom, Christine, a multidisciplinary artist, to make me some simple drawings. They have since developed a variety of designs, always related to nature and Ireland.
