Born in Cork, Elva Carroll is a multi-disciplinary artist and musician currently based in Galway, where she recently completed her BA honours in Fine Art Ceramics. Working predominantly in porcelain, Carroll is known for creating various functional, domestic and installation works. “When I first discovered porcelain, I completely fell in love with the fight and the sensuality of the material. It’s challenging and honest in that it will remember absolutely everything.” 

Whilst the ever-changing temperament of the Connemara coastline informs the subdued palette in her work, Carroll also takes inspiration from the magic occurring in her life,  through creation, connection or humanity.  With her current range of functional-ware, Carroll strives to thread these moments into poetry that can transcend an object into an emotional experience, something to cherish over time.
